Fruits (2017-2019)

Fruit is a photography-based visual book focused on the aesthetics of food. Although fruit plays a prominent role in our diets, we don’t often think about their function in a creative capacity. Since 2017, I began to explore the artistic nature of these everyday foods. Each portrait displays a particular fruit which, like its human counterpart, is distinct in image and character. I hope that by juxtaposing color, form, and concept, each portrait will act as a conversation between the human and non-human elements. In this way, through this visual book I aim to both highlight these interactions and emphasize the individual character of each portrait.
